Halloween Party

Mom's Group style...

So as you saw in the previous post I had my pretty Halloween makeup lol. I did it for a Halloween Party the Moms group I belong to was having. The boys loved wearing their costumes! John had his face painted as the beginning of the day but it didn't last. With his allergies, his skin on his face got really irritated with buring with the paint so he washed it off :( And I didn't even get one single picture. But just for referece, he had his face painted like Tristans.

Just thought I'd post some pics from the party itself.

Scary Halloween Makeup...

So we had a Halloween Party to go to tonight and I of course did the yucky face make up :)
I love doing this, it's so much fun and the reactions are priceless. I wish I could catch some of them on tape. Everyone kept wanting to touch it or couldn't stop staring. Or telling me I should send the picture into Universal Studios and go work for them LOL!!!

I'll post a few pics here for you all to "enjoy"!

Tristan's Report Card

So I forgot to mention the other day that John and I went to a Parent / Teacher Conference for Tristan at his school. It's something they do to catch up with the parents and assess where the kids are at and how they are doing. Report card type meeting.

Lucky for us it was a timeframe that John was able to go and be a part of it! Which I know was really special for him because the hours he works makes it tough to be a part of things sometimes. And I know he craves that so I was super happy he got to be there with me.

Tristan is doing amazing! He got top scoring in all areas and is over achieving in areas too. The only part he needs improvment in is with his name. When he writes his name there are certain letters like "r" that he will always write a capital instead of a lower case. I will take responsibility for that one lol.... I figured as long as he writes it I didn't need to press the accuracy. Whoops! So we are working on that one at home now to make sure he writes it correctly.

There are parts of the report card that are grayed boxes because they don't do those things until like 2nd, 3rd or 4th quarter. But alot of those things he already has down! He can count to 100 no problem, he knows not only his full name, but mine and Johns, our phone number, the address, his birthday and the 911 information. He really catches on quickly! John and I are lucky. He is reading right where he should be, learning sight words and such. We brought home two new books to learn some new sight words and read and he flew through those books with ease. I really think he'll be full on reading by the end of kindergarten. It's really neat to see him learn and figure it out. However.... John and I are going to have to move from the Spelling stage to Pig Latin I think lol.

His report card also says on the back that he identifies 22 Uppercase, 23 Lowercase and knows 20 Letter sounds. That was 3 weeks ago and I think he probably knows most of them now but that was amazing to me. Mr. Clayton said thats an area he's above average in.

I will also put a pic up of his Music Report Card.... you can click on the picture and read what he's been doing in Music class. He LOVES Music class. I hope so much that he keeps going with Music. I grew up with lots of music in my home and playing different instruments and listening to all different kinds. I have a real appreciation for music and I hope Tristan continues to also. I think maybe if he really keeps loving it we will see if we can't get him to start an instrument. **Fingers Crossed for piano, shhhhh** lol

Anyway here are the reports, you can click both to look closer.

Ok ok ok.... I guess I've been home for 2 days, its time...

Its been a hectic two days, I still don't have my luggage unpacked! lol
The boys brains are still on east coast time so come 3-4am they come prancing in the bedroom wanting us to go downstairs, ARGH! This morning they waited til about 4:30am and I got them to sleep again until 6am. But I'm exhausted.

The night we got home I feel asleep on the couch somewhere around 7pm and then John put the boys down (I didnt even hear him) and went to the store then woke me up about 9:30 to go upstairs (dont remember that either lol). And he got up with the boys the next morning and I think I slept until 8ish, maybe 7 I dont remember. But I still don't feel rested. My boys is fighting getting adjusted.

We came home to plenty of snow lol. Its beautiful but soooooooo cold. I dont think it got up 25 degrees yesterday, brrrrrrrrrr!!

Anyway, Rhode Island was a blast. We had a great time. We saw lots of family and friends and were able to spend some good quality time with most. We were busy from sun up to sun down every day it seemed but it was alot of fun.

We went and visited Dads grave a couple times of course. It was difficult, which was expected, but we know with time, it'll get easier. We still just miss him so much. Mom Costa chose a beautiful stone that sits there and while she was in Alaska she got this really cool Eagle stone and has it permanently attached to the stone. It just so perfect. I took some really neat pictures of John and the boys "visiting" Poppa and am going to put those on here. If anyone at all is offended by them please let me konw and I will quickly remove them.

I already posted some pics from our visit but here are some more....

And here are the ones from visiting Dad...

And he did just that!
We've been super busy seeing everyone and doing lots of fun stuff.
